CHRIST MUSIC is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation founded in 2002 whose mission  statement is: “Renewing the heart of the Church through Eucharistic praise and worship.” 

Christ Music is a sacramental ministry which responds to the crisis of faith in the Catholic Church.  Catholics need to fall in love again with their faith, and experience in the deepest part of their being the life-changing love of Jesus Christ.

The starting point for our mission is an intimate encounter with Christ in the Eucharist.  Pope Benedict XVI addressed the US Bishops during his visit to the US in 2008, declaring:

“People today need to be reminded of the ultimate purpose of their lives.  They need to recognize that implanted within them is a deep thirst for God.  They need to be given opportunities to drink from the wells of his infinite love.

It is easy to be entranced by the almost unlimited possibilities that science and technology place before us; it is easy to make the mistake of thinking we can obtain by our own efforts the fulfillment of our deepest needs.  This is an illusion.

Without God, who alone bestows upon us what we by ourselves cannot attain, our lives are ultimately empty.  People need to be constantly reminded to cultivate a relationship with him who came that we might have life in abundance.”

The goal of all our pastoral and catechetical work, the object of our preaching, and the focus of our sacramental ministry should be to help people establish and nurture that living relationship with Christ Jesus, our hope.”

Christ Music seeks to create the opportunities that the Holy Father mentions above for Catholics to “drink from the wells of his infinite love”.  Here is how we do this:

1.Caelorum Concerts and Eucharistic Events:
The Caelorum Concert program is the cornerstone event of Christ Music; a high-quality praise & worship concert which incorporates Eucharistic Adoration.  In addition, Christ Music provides professionally prayerful music ministry at Eucharistic events all over the United States such as:

»Catholic men, women and/or family conferences

»Catholic youth retreats

»Diocesan Eucharistic Congresses

»Parish Missions

2.Confirmation and High School Retreats: The Heart of God Confirmation Retreat is a one-day program developed by Christ Music to reach the average religious education or Catholic high school student.  Heart of God seeks to:

»Catechize young people preparing specifically for the sacrament of Confirmation.

»Evangelize high school student, giving them a dramatic, life-changing experience of God and a whole new perspective on Mass and Eucharistic Adoration.

»Provide resources to help the young people learn to pray with music and further develop their ongoing relationship with God.

3.Training: Christ Music is a community of music ministers that seeks to train others to learn the specific skills and techniques necessary to provide the powerful ministry of Christ Music through:

»The Catholic Worship Blog is a resource developed by Christ Music to connect with Catholic musicians and share ideas, develop strategies, and provide useful printed and online resources, such as sheet music liturgical guidelines.

»The Christ Music Gathering & Retreat is a conference that brings together the entire community of Christ Music to provides spiritual nourishment, talks, training resources, and powerful experiences of worship.

4.Musical Recordings: So many people use recorded music to pray and sustain their relationship with God.  Christ Music Studios exists to:

»Record quality Catholic praise and worship music that will renew the heart and inspire a deeper relationship with Christ.

»Record independent Catholic worship leaders’ music and give support to Catholic musicians who may not be able to otherwise afford a professional studio recording of their music.

5.Christ Music Kids: This is a ministry that seeks to fulfill the mission and goals of Christ Music with young children.  Christ Music Kids provides:

»3 fun and interactive CD’s designed for use in Religious Education or Catholic Summer Bible School.

»Worship leadership with kids at large Eucharistic and family conferences.

»Songbooks and online resources for Eucharistic ministry with children.

Christ Music is 100% faithful to the teaching of the Roman Catholic Church and seeks to present a legitimate and reverent expression of contemporary praise and worship music incorporated into Catholic liturgical life and practice.
